A Year of Breakthrough Innovation at Kinetix Air
2025 was another big year of expansion and innovation for the Kinetix Air platform, with new features, new components, new clients, and new partners driving growth. But if 2025 had a defining theme at Kinetix Air, it was AI.
KAI: Putting AI to Work Winning the Race to BOD
The launch of KAI, our AI engine, marks a turning point in how engineers, manufacturers, and sales teams interact with air handling unit design and the Kinetix Air platform.
KAI Select (Gen 2) is a major evolution of the selection process for complex air handling units, including single-deck and double-deck units of various airflow configurations and with multiple accessories, and fully synchronizes the integrated validation engine. Further, KAI now provides the brand-new task-sensitive Ask KAI assistant as your trusted real-time guide to the platform, that understands and responds to you in multiple languages, including English, French, Québécois, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, and German, all the while helping you complete your tasks quickly and efficiently.

Although significant on their own, these are just the first steps in KAI’s evolution. In the near future, KAI will expand its features and capabilities and will be more deeply integrated in the Kinetix Air platform, helping turn expert knowledge into repeatable SOPs, allowing rules, configurations, and real-world constraints to remove friction, reduce errors, and accelerate decisions that used to take hours or days.
Along with KAI and all the major advances it enables, the Kinetix Air team also launched a series of new product features throughout the year, each focused on one goal: making custom AHU design, sales, and manufacturing faster, less risky, and more reliable without sacrificing flexibility.
Here are just a few of the other innovations that are helping to make Kinetix Air the AHU design, sales, and manufacturing management platform of choice for custom AHU manufacturers and representatives.
Intelligent Reporting, Instantly Delivered
One of the most requested features is now a core capability. The new Scope of Supply report is generated with a single click and delivered in both DOCX and PDF formats. This intelligent report summarizes all key features of every air handler in a project into a clear, structured document.
The Scope of Supply report can stand alone or be seamlessly integrated into submittal and proposal packages, a process that used to require manual compilation, cross-checking, and formatting is now accurate, consistent, and immediate. This is a recurring theme across the platform. Less manual work, more confidence in the output.
Construction Class Brings Order to Complexity
Air handling systems are not one-size-fits-all, and neither are manufacturing rules. With the introduction of Construction Class, users can now configure multiple AHU product lines, each with its own dimensional rules, performance constraints, and materials of construction.
When a user selects a Construction Class, all predefined rules are automatically applied and enforced for that product line. Kinetix Air ensures compliance in real time, preventing invalid configurations before they become costly problems downstream. This dramatically reduces back-and-forth between engineering, sales, and manufacturing while providing the flexibility manufacturers need.
Automated Lifting Lugs That Reduce Real-World Risk
Historically, determining lug quantities and location required extensive, risky, manual calculations and deep experience. Kinetix Air now automates this process entirely. The system automatically adds lifting lugs to user-specified tunnels, displays them at accurate 3D scale, and applies a comprehensive set of configurable rules, including maximum center spacing between lugs, minimum distance from tunnel edges, split-section calculations, and maximum weight per lug.
Users can still customize style, type, quantity, and placement of lugs, but Kinetix Air ensures that every configuration stays within safe, validated parameters.
The result is faster design, fewer errors, and significantly reduced risk during installation.
Access Doors, Re-imagined as a First-Class Component
Access doors may seem simple, but anyone who has dealt with real-world AHU construction knows how many variations and accessories are involved. Kinetix Air now allows users to select doors manufactured in-house by the AHU manufacturer or doors purchased from leading third-party suppliers.
Users can also configure all major door accessories (hinges, latches, viewports, etc.) as part of the same workflow. KAI ensures compatibility and proper placement, eliminating guesswork and incomplete specifications that often surface late in the process.
Expanded Performance-Rated Equipment Libraries with Trusted Standards
This year also saw a significant expansion of performance-rated and selectable components.
Users can now performance rate and select AI Rotor SXA rotary heat exchangers, fully compliant with AI Rotor product requirements.
We also added the performance rating and selection of Heatex E series rotary heat exchangers, bringing another trusted solution into the Kinetix ecosystem.
Performance rate and select Modine fluid, evaporator, steam, as well as condenser coils, including Condenser, Desuperheater, and Reheat coils, all in accordance with Modine product performance and specification standards, all from within the Kinetix Air platform, and all selected and fully integrated in your air handling unit.
On the air movement side, the platform now supports New York Blower FA and EZ series plenum fans, as well as CA series cube fans; all models are rated and selected according to New York Blower standards. These additions give users more choice without compromising accuracy or compliance.
Other Highlights

Building the Future of Custom AHU Design/Selection
Each of these features is valuable on its own. Together, they reflect a broader shift in what Kinetix Air is becoming. With KAI at the core, the platform is evolving from a configuration tool into an intelligent system that captures expert knowledge and applies it consistently across every project.
2025 was about laying the foundation and proving the impact of KAI value in real workflows. The result is a platform that not only keeps up with complexity but radically simplifies, accelerates, and removes risk from the custom AHU design, sales and manufacturing processes. And this is just the beginning.
